I had been on the pill for a few years and stopped for about 6 months. I just started taking them again at the start of my last period.....I have now been bleeding for 17 days!!!! I called my Drs office and a nurse told me that it was normal for this to happen when restarting the pill. This has been a HUGE inconveniece for me. Does anyone have any prior experiences like this? Should I stop taking it, will that make the bleeding stop? I am anemic and worried that this much bleeding isnt good for me. Anyone have any insight or suggestions?

How much are you bleeding hon? When I started birth control (AND when I changed versions of birth control), I had breakthru bleeding that lasted the entire month. It was like when you have the normal discharge but instead it is a brownish (albeit lighter) color.

So... is it SUPER heavy? Or just consistent. For me it was light(sort of), but enough that I could wear a light tampon and fill about 1/2 to 1/4 of it.

Keep track of it, since you are anemic... but after you have your first period, the next month it should be fine... good luck!
