Heart arrythmias and the pill

Hi,
I have PVC's, SVT's (had an ablation in 2000), and PAC's. I also have a mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation. Do any of you have this and what BCPs do you take? Does it make it worse, better or the same?
I want to go on Yasmin for my acne and my cardio says that I would need to test my potassium levels every few weeks for a month or so because of the diuretic in Yasmin. Anyone else go through this?

I also have mitral valve prolapse with some regurgitation. I found that pills with high progestin activity(Losestrin, Estrostep and even LoOvral) gave me trouble. I would have rapid heart beats with skipped beats, nervousness and anxiousness and fatigue. Pills with low progestin activity(Ortho Tri Cyclen and Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo) I did fine. This link ranks pills according to their progestin activity: http://www.fpnotebook.com/GYN115.htm
Heres part of the page:
# Oral Contraceptive Progestin activity (low to high)
1. Progestin activity based on Norethindrone mg/day
2. Ortho-Cyclen (Norgestimate): 0.3
3. Ortho Tri-Cyclen (Norgestimate): 0.3
4. Alesse (Levonorgestrel): 0.5
5. Triphasil (Levonorgestrel): 0.5
6. Modicon (Norethindrone): 0.5
7. Nordette (Levonorgestrel): 0.8
8. Lo-Ovral (Norgestrel): 0.8
9. Ortho-Novum 777 (Norethindrone): 0.8
10. Ortho-Novum 1/35 (Norethindrone): 1.0
11. Ortho-Cept or Desogen (Desogestrel): 1.0
12. Estrostep (Norethindrone Acetate): 1.2
13. Loestrin 1/20 (Norethindrone Acetate): 1.4
14. Demulen 1/35 (Ethynodiol Diacetate): 1.4
15. Loestrin 1.5/30 (Norethindrone Acetate): 1.7
There may be other info on the sidebar that may help. Hope this helps.

I also have a mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation but its not that severe. When I went to get birth control, the nurse was skeptical and said that the doctor may not allow me to go on the patch because of it. Then the doctor came in and said it wouldn't be a problem. So I started the patch shortly after the appointment and have been on it for four months now. Side effects are few and its very convenient. I would highly recommend looking into it. http://www.orthoevra.com/
Hope that helps!
