Missed Period with Nuvaring

I have been using the Nuvaring since January of this year in order to straighten out my cycle, after having my IUD removed. It only took a couple of months and now I know exactly what day I will start my period. My concern is that I have not started my period yet, and was suppose to start last Wednesday (Jul 15). I have been sexually active and the only form of BC I use is the Nuvaring. I use the ring as directed and have yet to skip a period since I've been using it. I also have been dealing with a lot of stress at work and in my personal life, and I have also just started taking Wellbutrin. Is there any chance that the new medication I am taking and the stress I am under could be the reason why I have not started my period yet, or should I run out right now and buy a pregnancy test? I pray that I am not pregnant cause I already have 2 children and do not want anymore, but my doctor says I am too young and will not tie my tubes.

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if I would _run_ out and buy a pregnancy test, but it might be something to consider if only to confirm or eliminate the possibility from your mind.

Well, I took a test and it came back negative but I still haven't started yet, so I'm not sure what is going on. I haven't even mentioned it to my b/f yet cause I don't know if I should be concerned or not. Hopefully it is still just the stress and my body trying to get use to that wellbutrin. Would a AHP test be accurate enough to give a clear reading that soon, cause now I am 1 1/2 week late getting my period?

Hi csigurl,

Yes, being a week and a half late a test should be accurate. Even on BCPs sometimes Aunt Flow takes the month off, so perhaps that’s what’s going on. If you haven't done so already, it might not be a bad idea to talk with your doc. about what's going on. Thanks for the update. Keep in touch, ok?

Hugs,
