Patch & Spermicide??? Protected???

Well I'm on my 3rd week of the patch....and soo far so good...I've only had sex the day I changed to my 3 rd patch and he pulled out. I was wondering if anyone is on the patch and uses another type of BC like spermicide? See alone I know that spermicide not going to be really effective but atleast along with me using the patch i can be more relaxed and let my BF discharge inside me...(which he hasnt done yet). So if anyone uses the patch of any type of birth control and spermicide..please let me know how that is working out...we got a romantic get-a-way weekend this weekend and I want to enjoy it to the fullest..thanxs

We just use the patch without any type of back up.

My doctor said that the patch was actually less effective than other forms of BC, like the shot. I don't know what your doctor said, but mine advised against the patch. I've also heard stories of patches falling off. So I've decided not to even deal w/ that method. As for spermicide, I bought some, and on the box it said that spermicide alone is 80% effective at preventing pregnancy. I know a lot of people only use one form of BC. To me, it seems smarter to use two b/c I know a few people who have gotten pregnant while on BC, but that is your decision. Hope this helps.

umm the patch has never fallen off of me, and i never have to think about changing it every day, just once a week, so to me it seems more effective bc the chances of me forgetting are much more rare

I've only had one patch fall off and as I figured out later it was my own fault. DH and I don't use backup and it's been about a year. No kids yet. :)
