Ok i am going away on vacation next week and of course its the week of my period. i've heard that by restarting a pack of birth control pills right after you end ur old one, skipping the sugar pills, will make ur period not happen. I want to know a) if its actually true and can be done and b) if its safe, please get back to me people I dont want to ruin my vaca with this minor problem! Thank you! Kylee

Many women are able to skip their periods by taking the active pills in their packs back to back. How well you will be able to do it will depend on the type of pill you are on, monophasic or triphasic, and how well you body reacts with the hormones in your pill. It is easier to skip on a monophasic, a pill that has the same hormone dosage in all 21ays of active pills. If you don't know if your pill is a monophasic or triphasic check the list in the post “Your pills and what’s in them” in the FAQ folder at the top of the board. If you are on a triphasic pill let us know what pill it is. There mat be a way to skip on it too. Before you try skipping it would probably be a good idea to ask your doc about doing that and see what s/he says. Let us know, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
