Skipping a period, breakthrough bleeding

Hi everyone. Last winter, I tried skipping a period by going on to my next pill pack instead of taking the week of inactive pills. It seemed to work fine until about half way through the second pack, when I bled lightly, but continuously, for about two weeks.
Is this normal? I'm wanting to skip my next period and wondered whether I could expect the same thing to happen again. I'm on Alesse, and other than this, haven't had any problems with it. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you were new to Aleese last winter it might have been that your body wasn't completely adjusted to the hormones at the time you tried skipping. And there are some women who just can't skip successfully. You may (or may not) experience irregular bleeding again when you try this time. If you are taking your pills correctly and have btb again you are still protected from pregnancy. I hope it works for you this time. Let us know how you're doing ok?
Good luck,
Jill
I remember you!
And, yes, you probably do remember me from here. Excellent memory! I posted some questions nearly two years ago when I was using a diaphragm and having issues with it. Then, I switched to Alesse and, well, I guess I haven't had any major problems with it, and thus, haven't had to post! :) But it's a comfort your knowledge is available. Keep up the good work!
