question about Plan B
| Tue, 07-20-2004 - 5:48pm |
On the first day of my period he pulled out, but I was paranoid about getting pregnant so I took Plan B. Then about three days later I took it again, he pulled out this time before ejaculation as well. (Yes, this is very irresponsible, I know) I ended up having my period for 8 or 9 days. It got lighter toward the end so I thought it was normal. Then for two days I stopped bleeding. Yesterday I had a tiny tiny bit of spotting; that would be the twelth day after my period started. Is this just because I messed up my period by too much Plan B? Or is it implantation bleeding? I just can't see that I could be pregnant because a: it was early in my period. B: he pulled out after just a little bit, and C: I did get the morning after pill both times.
Please tell me there's no possible way I'm pregnant! This has to be a weird side effect from the medicine, right?!

Withdrawal is not an effective method of contraception and Plan B is not 100% effective. However, if you got your period it is unlikely that you are pg from encounters before Aunt Flo arrived. Your body is probably confused and trying to sort out what it is supposed to be doing having had two large doses of progestin to deal with in a short period of time. You need to be on an effective method of contraception! If you aren’t sure what method you want to use read “Deciding which method is right for you” in the FAQ folder at the top of the board, that may help you decide. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
