Hello, my name is Bridgett and I am really, really worried.
Withdrawal is not an effective method of contraception so you may be at risk. How long ago was the unprotected IC? If it was less than 72 hours or even less than 5 days then you might want to consider hormonal emergency contraception. See the EC site at: http://ec.princeton.edu/ and a copper IUD inserted as EC is very effective up to 7 days after the event.
If I were you I would call your doctor or Planned Parenthood and discuss your options. Your local PP clinic can be found by entering your zip in the PP Clinic locator at: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/Zip.htm A HPT is usually accurate 14 days after the event. For the most accurate results use your first urine of the morning as it is the most concentrated. You need to be on an effective method of contraception. After you find out what your situation is right now talk to your doc or PP about getting on birth control. If you have more questions, please ask. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Unfortunately, it will be a week tomorrow that the IC occured.
No one can say what your chances are. You couldn't have known for sure when you would ovulate unless you were charting your basal body temperature, cervical position and cervical mucus. It's possible that you are still ok. Keep in touch, ok?
Hugs,
Jill
I called Planned Parenthood and they said the IUD is only implanted in women who have already had a child.
