I am 22 and have been on Yasmin for 3 yrs now, and was approached about the new pill on monday by my physician. I am debating whether to stay on Yasmin or switch to Seasonale. Does anyone have any complaints or concerns about Seasonale, or is it all positive? I have to make a decision by Friday. I am just afraid of feeling like less of a woman with out my period, or there is some hidden danger with Seasonale. Let me know..

So long as you're menstruating at least every three months it's not a problem (Seasonale is structured to allow for menstruation every three months- seasonally... Thus the name. ;)

I haven't tried Seasonale, but I've heard good things about it... But- if you're happy on the Pill you're on- IMO it's not a bad idea to stay on it... Changing Pills changes the specific levels of hormones that you're getting and *some* women don't react well to such changes. (You may not be one of them, but it's worth a caution...) Of course, if you try Seasonale and don't care for it once you're on it, you can always switch back to Yasmine- just remember to use appropriate back-up methods if necessary ;)

Hi amandakat325, welcome!

If Yasmin is working well for you I'd stay with Yasmin. A high percentage of new Seasonale users experience irregular bleeding during the first three extended cycles on Seasonale. If there is some reason that you want to try Seasonale that's fine, but if you just want to skip an occasional period you can probably do that successfully on Yasmin. Let us know what you decide, ok?

Good luck,
