Condom Question

My boyfriend and I have been sexually active for a while now but recently after we had intercourse he pulled out and the condom was still in me. This had never happened to me before and I'm not on any type of birth control method besides using condoms. So is there a greater risk of me being pregnant now?

Hello...this just recently happened to me (had never happened to me before, either) where my boyfriend realized the condom had come off inside of me but he had not yet ejaculated. We got it out within minutes, and I wasn't overly concerned about it until I started thinking...and worrying ( I was in the middle of my cycle and I thought I remembered that pre-ejaculate does contain sperm)...so, I hopped on this message board and some wise woman told me I should go to my doc and get emergency contraception. If taken within 72 hours it can be quite effective. My doctor gave me Ovral (two high doses of birth control pills, 12 hours apart) less than 24 hours after it happened.

I'm glad I took it...and I got Aunt Flo when she was supposed to come...I would go to my doctor and ask for it...otherwise, you will be left wondering!

I hope I helped you out as someone on here did for me...

Best wishes,

AM

this happened to me before, from now on make sure he holds the end when he pulls out. in my situation, the end of the condom was outside my body but i still freaked... however, i am also on birth control. it's probably a good idea to go on something when these situations happen. there is a chance some sperm leaked out into you, but i'm not a professional or anything in this. it happened twice in one day just with this certain type yet, the same brand we always use, of condoms. i'd say the chances are slim but there still are chances... i didn't get pregnant but then again if any did get in me, i am on birth control and spermicide was on the condom. keep us posted. take a test if u need reassurance.

Hi sweethoney10o4, welcome!

Time is not on your side here. You should talk with your doctor or a Planned Parenthood clinic near you as soon as possible! The PP Clinic finder is: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/Zip.htm Read the information about Emergency Contraception on the EC site at http://ec.princeton.edu/ If the event of concern was less than 72 hours ago EC can be very effective. Even as long as 5 days ago EC can be somewhat effective. Please act quickly! Adding a good spermicidal gel (not the stuff that comes with some condoms) in combination with condoms can improve the effectiveness considerably. Good luck! Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Hugs,
