Birth control_ Antibiotics HELP!
| Sun, 07-25-2004 - 10:23pm |
I took an antibiotic for 10 days. I started the antibiotic the 2nd day of my period, Thursday (on white pills, Yasmin 28), and my period stopped on Sunday (5 days on my period). I had unprotected sex for 8 days after. Would anyone know the chances of getting pregnant? My body usually ovulates two weeks after my period. I have been using a backup method ever since the 8th day. I am freaking out after reading "10 signs of pregnancy" because I have had breast tenderness since the second week of pills. Usually I start breast tenderness the third week of pills, which I am starting on today. I would greatly appreciate any input. Thank you

If you're on the pill - you don't ovulate, so that's why they prevent pregnancy. Antibiotics do reduce the effectiveness of the pill, if you think you might be pg, wait untill 2 weeks after the time when you would have concieved and take a test. Alternately, wait for your period. I know it's rough to think about, but all you can do is wait to find out.
