So, Sunday I finally got up the nerve to talk to my Mom about this. We were sitting in the car, and I just blurted out, "I need to talk to you about something."
I told her that for a while I had been wanting to talk to her about my periods, but since we've never really had that kind of relationship , that I felt weird talking about it with her. I said that now I was concerned that I should get things fixed and in order, also since I recently had that cyst. I just explained to her how nothing has much rhyme or reason to it, and she looked at me and said, "I think you need to see Dr. L . I'll give you his number when we get home." Enough said.
I also asked her why she didn't just take me when I was 18, like what doctors recommend. Her answer was that she felt if I needed to go or had a problem, that I would approach her about it first, instead of her bringing up the G word on my 18th birthday, haha. She was right, though.
I think it was a smart move by talking to her about it since afterward she seemed happy that I would talk to her about it and be the bigger man. I don't know if she was more or less concerned with the problem after I mentioned it, but when I said that they aren't normal, that's when she just knew who I had to go see. So, in the end, it was good that I just asked her about it instead of going somewhere behind her back. I guess it makes it easier for her to trust me with things now.
Thanks for all of your help!! :-D

PS- My local PP doesn't have doctors, at least I don't think they do. When I called, they said that "the nurse" was only in on certain days, so that kind of scared me since I would rather see a physician.
