Diaphrgam Questions

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone can tell me a little about Diaphrgams. I read a post above about them and they sound like a good idea for people that do not like the pill. But how do you wear them, do they go all the way inside you? And how effective are they in protecting against pregnancy? Thanks!

Diaphragms come in a range of sizes from 55mm to 105mm in diameter and are made of latex or silicone rubber. The diaphragm is inserted all the way into the vagina with the far rim at the back (the posterior fornix) and the anterior rim tucks into the notch behind the pubic bone. With the diaphragm properly positioned the dome covers the cervix preventing sperm from entering it. The effectiveness of a diaphragm depends on how well it fits and the wearers motivation and discipline to wear it correctly and for every act of IC. I wear a Milex (silicone) wide seal diaphragm during my period for flow control and contraception and it works very well for me.
Here is what The Contraception Report had to say about the diaphragm: http://www.contraceptiononline.org/contrareport/article01.cfm?art=217 This article has images to show what a diaphragm looks like.
