Has anyone been on BCPs and just completely skipped a month of bleeding?

I just started a new pill this month, and I've on my 5th day of placebos without any sign of AF. I took a HTP this morning and it was negative, so I shouldn't worry, right? I had 3 days of BTB last week, also.

Hi,

Just my $.02... I had the same exact problem... breakthrough bleeding the week before and no AF when it was supposed to come. I will tell you that I am on my 5th month of pills and I have never had my AF during the placebo week and always on the third week of active pills. My doctor told me that I could very well never get it when I am supposed to but if I at least get it sometime during the month and it is consistent (and it is) then I should be fine. It is scary because as the other poster stated, you do get pregnancy symptoms and I remember taking a pregnancy test but had a hard time looking at the results, I think I had cold sweats but much relieved when it was negative. Good luck.

Thanks for your responses. This made me feel a little bit better. I actually have my annual with my gyn next week, so I will definitely talk to her about this. In the meantime, 3 days of BTB and a negative pregnancy test will have to get me through the next week and a half. Hopefully this will straighten out when my body gets accustomed to the new hormones. I'm just not used to skipping an entire month.

Does anyone think I should test again? I am scheduled to start my next set of pills on Thursday, and not seeing my doctor until a week from Thursday.

If you test again it should be for peace of mind but I don't think you need to. I spent lots of money on pregnancy tests every month because I was paranoid and all came back negative. If you are seeing your doctor soon, why don't you have them test you instead of your going out to purchase another HPT? If you have been taking your pills on time every day, you are chances of being pregnancy are so incredibly slim. good luck.
