I have a question would like some imput from some of you out there.

I have had many many many female problems. Due to all of the female problems that I have or have had I can not take birth control pills. I have been on 14 different ones in about a 5 year span. I just got off the Nuva Ring. Which I liked very much however, my body didnt like it so much. Made me deathly ill everyday.

I have just seen my doctor within the past week about whats to come next on the birth control line. She had talked to me about one of 2 things that I can do at this point.

First The IUD. She would not want to do this with my history of problems. She however, would put one in me if thats what I wanted. And I am thinking not with all of my problems. More of a risk there then I really want to take.

Second Tubes tied. She would want to tie my tubes way before she would want to place a IUD. I know all the risk of having this done.

My question is this. Has anyone on the board had thier tubes tied and not ever had any kids? I would like to know your thoughts after having it done.

I am willing to have my tubes tied at this point rather then have a IUD placed. I do not have any kids. Do not want kids. And have had so many female problems have a very little chance at ever having kids. But there is a small chance. No using any birth control is not a risk that I would ever want to take. I am not with the kid gene. I am to the point in my life that I do not want kids.

So anyone that has had them tied I would love to hear your thoughts about it now that it is done.

That's a BIG decision....I know most drs are hesitant to do it if you don't have kids (at least in my area)-and some won't do it if you have less than 2 kids....But yours sounds like an extreme case...I would do some serious soul searching and if you're sure that's what you want and if your dr says it would help your situation,DO IT!! ((HUGS)) It's a big decision, good luck-whatever you decide to do.

Check out the Childfree by Choice board - it's under the relationships heading on the main boards page. There are several regulars on that board who have had their tubes tied and don't have children. They could probably give you some good insight.
