Hi all - so i've been on cyclessa for about 4 months now... anyways, I know if you forget one pill it's no big deal and you just double up as soon as you remember it.

Well I was on my placebo week pills, and was supposed to start taking my new pack on friday. I forgot and took 2 on saturday.

So I am still sort of bleeding though. Could this be because i forgot the first pill of the cycle? I'm just hoping it's not Breakthru bleeding, because I know that when I change methods of birth control, that if I have a little spotting or whatever - it's for the ENTIRE MONTH.

Ug.

Thanks for your input ladies!

Make sure you use backup!! Missing the first pill isn't like missing the other ones, it's possible to ovulate if you don't get that first pill on time. As far as breakthrough bleeding, does your period normally wind down after you start a new pack? Or did it stop and start again (which wouldn't make sense to me, but stranger things have happened)? If you normally have to take a couple of pills for your period to stop, that may be the case.

But make sure you use back up until next weekend! And actually the FDA has requested a labeling change for oral contraceptives--you're supposed to use backup for 7 days even if you only miss one pill, so it's not as simple as just taking it when you remember and going on with life.

Good luck!

Wow Judie, THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!

I am currently no longer with my boyfriend, so no sex for me (siiiigh... but don't think I haven't been thinking about it for the past 2 months... oh wait, we regessed 3 weeks ago). Anyways.

THAT IS SO SO SO HELPFUL to know about the FDA changing their stance on missing a pill. That is great to know.

I don't think that I am having any more bleeding so that is good. Usually with normal menstrual bleeding, it winds down just before the first pill basically. . .

Thanks so much again. Wow, scary about the missed pill thing!!! wooooo good to know.
