Well I have recently started taking a mood stabilier (Tegratol) and I forgot to read the packet, but on this packet it says can stop the contraceptive pill from working, please use another form of contraception. Well here's my problem, I did have sex 14 days into my cycle, but thought nothing of it like you do. Finished my pill 7 days like I normally do, and waited, and waited. It has been 7 days and I was supposed to restart my pill, but I havent due to the fact that I havent seen AF at all. Nothing..nada!!! I have been getting the odd crampy feelings, but thats all. Then this morning I started to get nausea quite strongly and it has sort of lasted all day.
I am 36 years old, and have had a few miscarriages over the years and was told that I couldnt have any children but kept on the pill to keep my periods regular.
Anyway could it possibly be that I am pregnant? Did do a home test but I bodged it up as I didnt use the morning wee, and the amount I used was so weak that it showed a neg test. But then my previous miscarriages showed negative till I lost the babies :(
So am a bit worried and I dont want to tempt fate..
Any ideas as to whether it is pregnancy, bearing in mind never missed a period before at all.

It is possible, if Tegratol reduced the effectiveness of your pills, that you could be pg. If I were you I’d test again with first urine of the morning and see where you are. Or, if home tests haven’t proved accurate in the past you might want to see your doctor for a blood test. If AF is a no-show you need to know where you stand as soon as possible so you have as much time as possible to consider your options. And, if AF just decided to take the month off and you aren’t pg, then because you have stopped taking your pills you are no longer protected so be sure to use another effective form of contraception. I hope you get the result you want. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Hugs,
Jill
