Skip AF on first nuva ring?

I just finished my first 2 months of OTC-lo, well i'm on my last week of placebos at least. OTC-lo has been really good for me, no problems really, just that I want something easier that I don't have to take everyday. The solution to me and my gyno was the Nuva Ring. She says that I should start it this Sunday. I'm supposed to get AF on wednesday, although I'd rather skip it because I'm going away this weekend. Is there anyway this is possible with my Nuva Ring even though it will be my first use?

I don't think I'd try skipping your period when you're changing from one combination of hormones to another--sometimes the transition is difficult enough without adding the additional stress. Sure it might be possible and work great, but you also run the risk of bleeding through your entire first ring. But if you've already started your placebos, it's very likely you'll have bleeding this week no matter what you do.

I can't skip periods with the ring. I can move them a week, but I can't completely skip them without breakthrough bleeding. Breakthrough bleeding is very common when you switch from one pill to another or from the pill to the ring, so be prepared!

I love the ring, I hope you do too!
