My doctor put me on this to try and regulate my periods. I was scared to go on it because I have been reading about all of the horror stories from women about the bcb they have been having. I have only been taking it for 5 days now. Is it too soon to worry about the side effects yet? I had very light spotting for a few weeks before my dr put me on it. When should I expect the spotting to stop? I have been reading 3 months or so. I don't think I can handle 3 months of this. I am also prone to anemia. I have recently had a transfusion and do not want to get another one!! I take a vitamin every day and a iron pill every other day (per the dr). I'm having a blood test to check my levels.
I have been really depressed lately also. Not knowing what is going to happen, trying not to stress over it because it can make it worse. I guess I just wanted to get some feedback.
Thanks!

Some women can take the pill and don't have ANY side effects at all. I didn't for years. Some have a few that start early and go away, but after you get through the first 3-4 weeks, if you don't have any side effects, you probably won't.
Seasonale may be more difficult for the body to get used to at first than the 28-day pills. It's a long time to go without bleeding, and it can take a while for the body to get used to that. Breakthrough bleeding isn't uncommon, but that too usually goes away if you give it long enough. And if it doesn't, there are still things you can do, don't worry that once you start bleeding you're going to bleed forever!
If you're still spotting from before, it's hard to say when it will stop, but I'd give it a few more days and see where you're at. Remember, you can always call your doctor for suggestions or to see if you need to change anything!
Try to relax, I know it's hard, and the bleeding is annoying, but you'll never know if it's going to work (and it might!) if you don't give it a good try! Take care of yourself, try to not stress, and keep taking your vitamins. If you notice anything that doesn't seem right, you can always call your doctor! Good luck to you...
