(sorry i posted this in the wrong area)

i have been on orthro tricyclen for three months now and recently this month i realised that i had been taking more pills than i should have which in the end made me start my placebo pills earlier. in other words i had been taking two pills a day for a few days accidentally. does anyone know what will happen or how this could affect me?

Hi scaredycay78, welcome!

Doubling up on your pills shouldn't produce any lasting effect. You can go no more than 7 24-hour days with out taking active pills or you loose your protection so doubling will have changed your start day. If your start day is important to you, you can shorten your placebo interval so that, depending on how many days you doubled, you can get back to your normal start day by reducing the length of your hormone free period in one or perhaps two cycles.

Good luck,
