Starting a new pack--timing

I've read here recently that starting a new pill pack late is a big no-no. I was wondering how late is considered late? Does the general +/-2 hrs. rule still count as on time? If I start a pill pack 1-2 hours late am I likely to ovulate and should I use back up?

Plus or minus two hours, you should be ok. Even so, knowing you are at your most vulnerable at that time with your pills, why chance it? This board considers 'late' as being 8 or more hours past your normal pill time. Back-up never hurts if you are the least bit concerned.
Good luck,
Jill
If you are only on your 3rd cycle on OCs then your body is still adjusting and AF probably hasn't decided exactly what schedule she's on yet. The first few cycles she can vary a day or two either way... Typically she shows between days 2 - 5 of your hormone free week. So, don't freak on us, ok? I think you are probably fine... You’ll let us know when AF shows, right?
Hugs,
Jill
