Hi caramelbeauty21, welcome!

If you have only been taking oral contraceptives since Sunday did you start on the first day of your period? If you did, you should have been protected immediately. If you were a Sunday start (the first Sunday after your period) then you should use protection for at least 7 days of correct pill use before you are protected. If you weren't a first day start I would use EC. EC is most effective within 72 hours of the incident of concern and somewhat effective for up to 5 days. See the EC site at: http://ec.princeton.edu/ Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Yes it is! And being that it's Monday, you'd better hurry, ECP (emergency contraceptive pills) are more effective the earlier that they're taken, but are more effective than not when taken within 5 days. It's a lot of hormones on top of each other, but other than being uncomfortable, it's not unsafe--talk to your prescriber and/or pharmacist about what you may be able to do for the possible side effects, and be prepared for any weird bleeding that may happen due to a sudden surge of hormones that are withdrawn just as suddenly.

Good luck!
