Skipped one pill- could I be pg?

I have been on BC pills since March (started taking them again when dh returned from overseas.) Last month in early July I remember forgetting to take a pill one morning, and took two the next day. At the end of last month I was supposed to get AF but never came! Just a little spotting one morning the week I was on the placebo pills. Now could that just have been an extremely light AF or could I be pg? My next AF is due Aug 21 or so- and I am still taking a pill each day but am concerned because I wouldn't want a possible pregnancy to be harmed or terminated (we have 2 children and I am nearly 35 yrs old.) Help!

That being said, the occasional missed or light period isn't terribly uncommon, depending on the pill that you're on and how you react to it. Some women have periods every other month, even!
But probably the part you're worried about more...the pill has not been shown to terminate pregnancies nor has it been shown to harm fetuses, but obviously as soon as you would determine you were pregnant you'd have to stop them (seems like a no-brainer, I know).
If you're worried about July, it's not too early to take a pregnancy test, if that will help you sleep better! You don't necessarily have to wait another almost two weeks.
Good luck, I hope everything works out okay!
