thoughts on the patch?

Any opinions out there on the patch? I just started it and have been getting headaches (never had any side effects with the pill). Then I read an article about an 18 year old who died from a blood clot because of the patch (my rational mind knows that the chances of that are so slim, but it still really spooked me). I really like the convenience of the patch but I am starting to think maybe it hasn't been around long enough to know if it is really safe.

anyone else have patch experiences?

I've been on the Patch for about six months and I recommend it as a convenient alternative to the Pill. For the first week after I began using it, I felt sick and nauseous for several days, but most of those kinds of side effects only come about because your body is adjusting to the hormone changes from the birth control. But I am proof that if used correctly, the Patch does prevent pregnancy. Try it and see! :)

I used the patch for a year, and I was very unhappy with it. Yes, it's convenient, but at the same time, it would always unstick at the edges. I was always stressed out at the end of the month when my period was supposed to come. If it was even 1 day late, I was a wreck! I was lucky in that I had no side effects, but I still switched to the pill because I feel better using that. Good luck!

Well i have been on the patch for 7 months now and have no problems what so ever. With the pills i had weight gain and headaches. I have had nothing with this one except the patch starts to itch about the 5th day, but i mean i scratch over it and i go on with my business. SOOO i see no bad side effects! I will stay on the patch for a long time!

I've had breast tenderness and heavier periods on the patch than on the pill. I don't know if it's enough for me to go back on the pill since the patch is so convinient. I am going to wait a couple more months and see how everything goes and then decide then. My insurance covers the pill and the patch the same, so fortunately I don't have that issue to deal with.

I've been on the patch for 4 months now and the convenience of it is great! However, my sex drive has lowered and my body produces almost no lubrication. But for me, this is the best birth control right now and I don't see switching... I just use lube!
