period in middle of pill cycle

I just recently started my first cycle of birth control (Estrostep Fe). Because of my irrgeular periods, I wasn't able to start exactly six days after my period, so I just guessed to when it would be if I hadn't have missed it that month. Now I am having my period in the middle of my pill cycle when, if everything had gone as planned, I should be having it next week.
So my question is, should I skip the placebos and go straight into a new cycle of pills since I've already had my period or should I just continue on as normal? Thanks so much for your help!
Cheers!
Allie :)
EDIT: sorry for posting this in the wrong section of the forum.. I realized that as I posted but it was too late. Oops. :\ Sorry again.

I wouldn't skip the placebos, continue on as normal. I always start my period during the third week of active pills and never on the placebos and I just take them as I should in the right order, every day. My doctor says that if you are getting your period sometime during the month, even if while you are on the active pills, you should still be protected. Just my $0.02. Take care. Lucy
Since this is your first cycle on Estrostep your body is still adjusting to the hormones and you can have annoying side effects for the first three or so cycles. I agree with the other poster, you should continue on with your pills and take the placebos, then start the next pack at your regular time. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
