Not sure what to do!

I posted here about a month ago on how I've been taking Ortho Tri Cyclin Lo since January continously(meaning I don't skip a week of pills..I just continously take the active pills) and suddenly started bleeding heavly. Well the bleedling has finally stopped and yesterday was my last active pill. I've decided to take a few days off and then start a new pack on Sunday and then take the pills normally. (no more continous active pills)

My question is..I'm only taking the sugar pills for three days...is ok for me to engage in sexual activity without backup durning this time? My Finacee has been in boston since Sunday and I'm flying out to see him on Friday so....

anywhoo..I just wonder if by not taking any active pills (after taking them continously for so long) will cause my body to ovulate..

Please let me know!

It's okay to shorten your inactive week! I do it all the time to get around stuff on weekends. You're probably (in theory) at less risk of ovulating if you take three days off versus seven days, but even with seven days off you're still protected from pregnancy.

Good luck!

Thanks Judie,

But even with constantly taking my active pills? I was one of those lucky ones who was able to take a trisaphic pill and skip my periods for about 6 months (I did it for six months previos on lo overal) I'm just nervous that since I never stopped taking the active pills before this , I'm going to get pregnant for taking the sugar pills for a few days.

That shouldn't make any difference. It's not like your body is holding on to an egg and just waiting to let it go as soon as it gets the opportunity (and getting more impatient), the process doesn't even start until you've broken one of the rules!

Remember, women on Seasonale take 11 weeks of active pills and then a full week off and they're no more or less likely to get pregnant on the pill than any of us on the typical 3/1 packs.

It should be okay, you've got to stop sometime!

again thank you!

I learned my lesson taking OTC lo for six months straight and then I pretty much bled for all of July. Going the normal route with it now. Heck its only until January and then its off the pill for the 3 months before my wedding!
