Is it time to switch pills?

I've been on OTC lo for about a year now. This cycle, I got my period on my first or second week 3 pill and it hasn't stopped yet. My last cycle was normal, but the first before that I started my period towards the end of week 3. Besides this problem, I can't seem to shake any weight on this pill. I can finally switch in september/october. Would anyone suggest checking into that or should I count this as an off month and just refill my prescription? Thanks so much.

Hi Melissa, welcome back!

Are you doing anything that might cause irregular bleeding, like loosing weight, taking 1,000 mg, or more, of vitamin C or not taking your pills on time? If not then you might want to talk with your doc about a pill switch. Or, you could give yourself another month to see if the bleeding reoccurs. Let us know what you decide, ok?

Good luck,

I'd talk to your doctor. We metabolize hormones differently at different times, which can explain the differences in the bleeding patterns, but that would mean that you're riding the fine line between no-btb and btb. It doesn't affect your protection, it's just annoying! It's up to you, really, if you want to wait or if you want to talk about a switch now. It could be a pretty simple fix!

Good luck!

No I haven't done any of those three . I have another month to wait, but I think I will call for an appointment when I get down at school and see if they suggest another pill. They wanted me to switch back in May, because of some cramps and the fact that my pill is going to be a pay pill sometime soon, and I was happy then so I didn't want to switch. Thanks for your help again.
