Hi, I've been on the pill for about 4 months now, and next time I'll have my period is a very bad time for me so I was wondering if it's ok to skip the placebo pills and go straight to the next set of pills so that I don't get my period this month ? Thanks for the help :)

yea its ok to skip the placebo pills and go straight to a new pack but make sure u do this only ONCE. wen i first started taking bc pills i skipped the placebos evry month for about four months becuz i didnt kno any better. after a while of not havin my period i had it neway, even tho i wasnt takin the placebos. it lasted for about 3 weeks (not fun). but yea as long as u only do it once its ok to skip them. im thinkin that next time u get ur period it might be a lil heavier but its definitly ok to skip for one month.

This can work differently for different women. Some women can skip their pill-period for several months in a row, some can't even go two months without bleeding. This usually works better with a monophasic pill (same dose of hormones in all active pills).

Remember, Seasonale is simply the monophasic, 21/7 pill Nordette packaged in an 84/7 (correct me if my number is wrong, someone!) package so that you only get your period 4 times per year (seasonally). For many women, breakthrough bleeding can happen after an extended time on active pills, but things should be "reset" by taking no more than 7 placebo pills in order to get a period. A lot of women will also get breakthrough bleeding at first, but then their body will become accustomed to the new regimen (hence no more BTB).

I don't know! The package insert should tell you. Also, in general, triphasic pills will have three colors of active pills, plus another color for the placebos. Monophasic pills are usually all the same color (for the hormone pills) & then the placebo week is a diferent color. I would look at the insert though, I don't like the idea of just going by what color your pills are!!!!

Yes, Aleese is a monophasic pill. To see if a pill is a monophasic or triphasic you can look at the list of pills in the post "Your pills and what's in them" in the FAQs at the top of the board.

Good luck,
