Has anyone here used Emergency Birth Control? I've been trying to look it up online to find out how long after the accident could you use it and where you could get it at. The accident happened Friday at about 2am, is it too late?

Hi sweetjenn22, welcome!

The effectiveness of EC decreases over time. It is most effective within the first 72 hours and somewhat effective during the 4th and 5th day after the event. Take a look at the EC site at: http://ec.princeton.edu/ If I were you I'd call my doctor right away, explain your situation and ask for EC. Or go to a Planned Parenthood clinic near you. Their clinic finder is: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/Zip.htm You need to act quickly as time is not on your side. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Thank you for the web links. By the time I called it was too late. So we're just hoping that nothing happened. I guess we'll know in a couple of weeks.
