Well i finally got the prescription for Seasonale from my dr and started taking it on 8/15. Well now my period is supposed to fall right in the middle of November. Normally i really wouldn't care but my boyfriend is coming home from Baghdad for 2 weeks in November - he does not have an exact date yet but i'm sure it will be during the middle of the month.
Anyway, I wanted to know if you think i could either take the white pills 2 or 3 weeks early (will that work?? will i actually get my period then?) or could i take them a week or two late? I'm so mad about this...it didn't even occur to me that my period would fall right in the middle of his vacation.

Oh yea...When you're on the pill are you protected from getting pregnant even when you're taking the white pills?
thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me

You should be able to take you white pills and have your period a week or two before your bf comes home. If you have been taking your active pills correctly and not taking medicines or supplements that could reduce your pills effectiveness you should be very safe while taking your placebos. Let us know how you like Seasonale, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
I'm taking Minocycline (for acne) which i know reduces the effectiveness of the pill. You wouldn't happen to know how long i need to be off of the medication for the pill to be back to it's normal effectiveness would you? My cousin told me 7 days but i'm not sure if she actually knows what she's talking about. I figured i wouldn't get the Minocycline refilled (i have less than 2 weeks left of it) since it doesn't seem to be working at all and i'd be protected against getting pregnant by November. Hmm...i'm not sure if that makes any sense, but i figured if i was off of the Minocycline for 2 months then i should be fine. Does that sound right?
Using back-up during the time you're taking the antibiotic and for at least seven days of actives afterward is what's recommended. If you will be off your meds. for longer than that before you need protection then you should be ok.
Good luck,
Jill
