Another Nuvaring question

I have written many times before about my breakthrough bleeding - before the pill and now that I am on Ovcon 35. Anyway, the doctor has suggested I go on Nuvaring. I am picking up the samples tomorrow. They told me to insert it on the first day that I would start my placebo pills, which would be this Sunday. Does that sound right to you all? Will I still have a period next week? I am spotting this week. Is there any tricks to inserting these? I am nervous about it.

Hi mom23gs, welcome back!

Inserting NuvaRing isn't difficult at all. With thumb and middle finger on either side of the ring compress it into a long oval and with the index finger push on the ring to insert. Try to push it as far back as it will go. There is no correct place for it to stay. Depending on your anatomy it will find a spot and that is where it will stay most of the time. During IC it might be pushed deeper but it will return to 'its' spot afterward. If I ever go back on hormones I would try NuvaRing first. Let us know how you like it, ok?

Good luck,
