Question--Need Help!

Hi--this is my first time to the BC boards....I have a question, and it pertains to something that happened just about a week ago, but I still need an answer anyway....

...I went to Italy for a vacation, and I think the time change messed stuff up with my pills...I got back and continued to take them, and then I realized on a Friday that I had already taken Saturday's pill! I don't think I would have taken two pills in one day; I think maybe the time time change just caused it to happen that way....so I didn't have a pill to take on Saturday, and I got period about a day earlier than normal...is this anything I should be terribly concerned about? I haven't been sexually active since I got my period, but I was sexually active the week that I got back (in other words the week that I accidentally took one pill too soon)...we always use condoms w/ spermicide, so I'm not freaking out, but I just wanted to know if that would have any affect on things....I plan to start my new pack tomorrow (I'm a Sunday starter) as usual....

Any answers would be great!!

If you were missing your last pill in the pack (didn't have one to take on Saturday), make sure to use reliable backup for the 8th day without hormones & the first 7 days of your new pack. You say you always use condoms too, so I guess you're already covered, but I wanted to make sure!!!!!

Getting your period a day earlier after stopping the hormone pills a day earlier sounds perfectly normal. Time zones can be so confusing!!!!!

Hi cmw6v8, welcome to the Birth Control board!

I agree with happyjusttwo! If you go more than 7 24-hour days between active pills you loose your protection! So be sure you continue to use condoms for all acts of IC until you have taken at least 7 active pills in your new pack. Otherwise, it sounds like you should be fine. Thanks for posting.

Good luck,
