Back on BC, have a question...

Well, I lost the 'who's going to handle the BC' discussion and here I am back on the pill four years and two kids later :) My husband is nervous about the big V so I decided I would take the pill until he felt more comfortable about it.

I am on Ortho TriCyclen (the generic version of course) and the paperwork said I need only wait 7 days before having unprotected sex. Now I'm paranoid thinking I may have read it wrong but I can't find the paperwork.

Does this sound about right??

Thanks in advance!!

Every brand I've been on says that same thing about being protected after 7 days of starting the pack, but some doctors recommend a backup method for as long as the entire first pack.

If you're sure you never want to have any more children, then there's a non-surgical sterilization method for women called Essure. It's just as effective as a vasectomy, and being non-surgical, it has a much shorter recovery period (most women return to normal activities within a day or less) and less chance for painful complications than a vasectomy.
