Weight gain with Mirena?

Hi, I've been on Orth Tri-Cyclen for almost 7 years now and didn't really notice any weight gain using it(although I was very young when started using it and was still growing I'm at a healthy weight right now (5'4" 120lbs). I was looking into using Mirena because I don't like how I get hormone spikes with the Orth Tri-Cyclen. It seems that when I start a new pack of pills for the first 2-3 days I'm a little crazy. Anyway I like that Mirena is there constantly and you don't have to worry about it but like every other women in the world I don't want to gain any weight.
Does anyone out there have any thoughts on this-anything would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Kim

I've had it for a year now and haven't ran into any gaining problems....I'm about the same weight as when I had it put in....I'm trying to lose though...My dr said they had to remove a few due to that problem though....so I guess not everyone has that side effect....I'm pretty much happy with my choice....When I have a period it's basicly just spotting.I went from using a double pack of kotex over nights pads to now using a few pantiliners each month.I spot from between 3-16 days....Annoying when it's longer than 3 days.I recently went 10 weeks w/o having a period and then when it came I spotted for 16 days.....The Mirena can cause some women to stop having periods completely and then for others it might come "every now and then".....good luck with your decision.
