I just have a quick question. My BC ran out last month, and I was late picking up the refills, so by that time I had already missed about 3 days worth so I just figured I would skip that month and just pick it back up again at my next period. I only had unprotected sex once during that time, about a week after I stopped taking the pills, and he pulled out(i know, not that reliable). But I'm wondering what the chances are that I could have gotten pregnant from that. I've heard it often takes awhile to conceive after stopping the pill. My next period is supposed to start today, but I'm never very regular, even on the pill, so I'm not worried yet. But if I am late, could it be because I've been off the pill for a month? Thanks for any insight!

There is definitely a chance that you are pregnant. I would just wait it out at least a few days... And then if you don't seem to be getting your period, go ahead and buy a pregnancy test just to see. Obviously, periods off the pill are not really reliable, so it is definitely also possible that you just haven't gotten your period yet.

Next time, it is probly best to go ahead and start taking your pills, even if you can't start quite when you're supposed to. And if you do that, obviously you need to use backup for the first 7 days. But for this time, well, you'll just have to see. You probably are not pregnant, but there is a distinct chance you are. Anytime you miss just one pill, your protection is compromised and it is possible you could ovulate immediately.

So anyways, best thing to do now is sit and wait a few days and try not to worry.

Good luck!
