should I be worried?

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate place to post this question.

Last July (around the middle of the month) I tried the pill for two weeks. I had the Sunday start. After two weeks, I had missed a few pills and decided to go off the pill.

I then had what I considered to be an irregular period exactly a week after I stopped taking the pill.

My question is, does my entire menustral cycle change now? I'm a little concerned because its been a month since I had hte irregular period and haven't had anything since. Is this common?

Hi christinerl, welcome!

From what you posted I think your experience is pretty typical for someone stopping mid-pack. After stopping hormonal contraceptives, regardless of the time you have been taking them, it may take a while to begin cycling again, or you could begin cycling right away. If you have been using an effective method of contraception you're probably fine. I'll bet Aunt Flo will be along pretty soon. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

hugs,

Thanks for the info, but since you wanted an update. Here it goes. And again, I could really use some help. I apologize if below is graphic but I really tried to elimiate it as much as possible.

Yesterday afternoon, I had some bleeding. Although I'm not sure if it was Aunt Flo visiting or not. The thing is the bleeding is very heavy when I urinate but when I'm not, then no bleeding. Now I'm really worried.

That seems like it's normal to me. Pushing to empty your bladder will also expel menstrual flow to some extent. If I were you and concerned I'd mention my condition to my doctor and see what s/he says. Thanks for the update. Keep us posted, ok?
