BCP throwing me off, please help??

I'm a little confused this month. I messed up really bad on my BCP last month. I started the pack 4 days late, I mean each week was some missed pills and doubling up every few days, I mean really bad. When I'm not on the BCP, I have my cycle every 6 weeks, which I think I ovulate about every 4 weeks, and then have my cycle 2 weeks later. I was put on the BCP because I have very bad ovulational cysts. The pain I get during ovulation is bad, so that being said, I have been ok taking my pills this month. But the only thing that is throwing me off is I got that horrible ovulational pain almost 2 weeks ago(10 days ago). and not putting 2 and 2 together, my husband and I didn't use any back up method this month. We did BD the day before I felt this pain and the day after. I have very sore BBS, and larger too, and my nipples are a little different color, and the areloas are a little puffier. I have had this weird aching feeling, almost like twinges in my abdomon, since 6 DPO. My last cycle was only for 1 day on Aug. 11th. and only when I wiped on Aug. 12th. thats it. So, what does this sound like to you? anyone have any input, or ideas. I'm lost!!! Would my mess up last month cause something to happen this month?

Good luck!!
Susan
It’s hard to say what’s going on. If you had a short period beginning 8/11 then you may have made it safely through the previous month of very irregularly taking your pills. If you did you are lucky. When did you begin your new pack of pills? If you have been taking your pills correctly for at least 7 days you should be protected and if you have been taking your active pills correctly you shouldn’t be ovulating at all. If you did ovulate ten days ago (on 8/25) and had IC on either side of it then there is a chance you could be pg. Or, you might be experiencing PMS prior to Aunt Flo arriving in a few days. If you are really concerned ten days is a bit early for a HPT to have an accurate reading, but testing now should tell you if you are neg. from last month. If AF doesn’t show in a week you might want to test to see where you are. As far as effectively using your hormonal contraceptives, have you considered switching to a lower maintenance method like the patch Ortho Evra http://www.orthoevra.com/ or the ring, NuvaRing http://www.nuvaring.com/Consumer/index.asp ? Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
