hi everyone,

turns out the pharmacy closed before i could pick up my prescription (in reference to earlier post) so i wont be having my pill for tonight =/ im really confused and i dont know what to do, should i just take my pill at the regular time tomorrow (8:00) or when i get my pill packet around 10AM? im definitely going to be using condoms this week, i hate working myself into a panic but this isnt helping me at all. i had a heavy period this month, so im trying not to worry but its difficult. im thinking i should take tonights pill when i get the packet and then take the next pill at my regular time. any thoughts? please help me out!

Dang! I thought you were golden!

Ok… If your first active in the new pack was supposed to be taken at 8:00 PM tonight (Sat. 9/4) then take it as soon as you pick up your pills in the morning. It definitely counts as a miss but you need to take it as soon as you can. Then take tomorrows pill at the regular time, 8:00 PM. And, you should use condoms starting today and for the next 7 days of correct pill usage. For you that will mean at least 8 active pills since you will be taking 2 tomorrow. Let us know how you're doing.

Hugs,

You should be ok. There is no 100% when talking about the effectiveness of contraceptives, but if you had been taking the pills of your last pack correctly then you were protected for 7 days after the last active pill. If you do ovulate because of the late start, that will be several days from now and the sperm from IC on placebo day 6 will have been dead for days.
