Question on birth control timing..
| Tue, 09-07-2004 - 7:14pm |
Hi.. I'm new here. I have been on the same birth control for almost three months now(I took a long break from it for a while, since I wasn't really haven't sex at all). The past month or two, I've just been taking the pills sometime during the day. Not at the same exact time everyday. Sometimes with as many as 6 hours difference. Anyway, I started taking the pink pills on Sunday. I haven't taken my third pill yet. Anyway, my period hasn't started yet. I'm wondering if I should be concerned at all about anything. I hope someone can answer this question. Thank You.

It's not a good idea to take oral contraceptives at random times during the day. You should read ‘Taking your pills correctly’ in the FAQs at the top of the board. Your body needs a minimum level of hormones for your pills to be effective and random pill-taking can interfere with providing that minimal level. If you are only on your third pack Aunt Flo may still be moving around a bit. Typically AF shows between 2 and 5 days after taking the last active pill in a pack so you have a few days yet before getting concerned. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
