Ok I was on ortho tri cyclen lo for 4 months, then my dr put me on the nuva ring. I took the 7 day break as usual and started the ring. After the ring was in for 4 days I got real dizzy and incase it was from the ring I pulled it out that morning. I started the ring on Sat the 28th andtook it out on wed the 1st. On the following Sat after I took the ring out, I started spotting and it lasted 3 days. I am trying the fertility awareness method now and I ws hoping if you could tell me if the spotting was af and if I should start a new chart or keep on with this one. Also we had sex during the time I had spotting is there a chance I could of got pregnant? I'm just so confused. I think I included all the info you'll need, if you need more info please let me know.

Here is my chart, I hope this works!

First thing's first, if you had the ring out for longer than three hours, yes, it is possible to become pregnant by having otherwise unprotected sex. I don't know what the likelihood might be, but it is possible.

As far as your chart goes, this spotting is not a true period, that requires ovulation 10-14 days prior, rather this is from the withdrawal of the hormones. You should continue with this chart expecting that ovulation may happen at any time and you might not have a predictable cycle this month. In my understanding, you'll need several cycles of charting to get a better feel of when your fertile times are.

Good luck! I hope everything is okay...

I looked at your charts. While you were on the OTC, the chart would be meaningless since combination birth control pills prevent ovulation. It might take your body some time to get regular since you're just coming off hormonal birth control. If this is a bad time to have a baby, then you really should use condoms your first few months charting until you've had a few normal cycles with ovulation to get a really good feel for what's happening. In addition, if you're having sex and your partner ejaculates inside, the semen can make it impossible to be able to check your cervical mucus. It might also be a good idea to get some formal training on fertility awareness. The typical failure rate is around 25%, so if you're wanting to avoid pregnancy, then you should be as diligent as you can about doing this method as perfectly as possible.

thanks for the responses so fast. I had o pains yesterday so I think I may be o'ing soon. We do plan on using condoms and we will only use unprotected sex 3 days after I o. I'm just a litle worried because if that wasn't a period and we had sex each one of those days we are running a risk I see. I just figured that when your bleeding your safe, I guess that isn't always true. Well I guess it will be a stressful next couple of weeks.

Thanks Again for all the fast responses!
