thank you for your help regarding my question about my pill that was taken late when i started my pack. i ended up taking my pill sunday afternoon at 1:00 instead of 8:00-8:30 saturday evening, then i took sundays pill at the regular time. my boyfriend and i have abstained from sex this week, and im taking all of my pills perfectly, which is why i have some important questions.
1. on the night i took two pills, i vomited around 1:30 AM. i took my pill at 8..did this compromise my protection? i had sex on the friday of my inactive pills, and i read that i should be fine because the sperm would die within hours since its an undesirable environment. im still worried though!
2. ive been noticing a pretty decent amount of discharge so far this week. maybe im just paranoid, because i know the week before my period i had an extreme amount of discharge. AF came without any problems! but im scared i could have ovulated..its pretty normal discharge, thick and white.. whats the difference between ovulation discharge and normal, pill induced discharge? ive noticed ive always had it when on the pill (tri sprintec) but i guess im just sensitive because im worried about how i started my pack late.
3. my boyfriend and i hate condoms (i find that they irritate me and make me feel very, er, raw) so are there any other suggestions you may have for backup? preferably, when can we start having "natural" sex again? nothing is really quite as satisfying..
thank you very much in advance for your help, ive taken all my pills faithfully since my screw-up and im not having any other discomforts except the discharge..please help ease my mind!

Good luck!!
Susan
It only takes 2 hours for your pill to be digested and absorbed so you should be ok.

For me fertle cervical mucus (FCM) usually begins creamy and then a day or two before ov clear and very slippery and stretchy. putting FCM between my thumb and forefinger it will stretch 3-5 inches.

If you have been taking your pills correctly for 7 consecutive days you should be protected. If you don't want to use condoms as back-up you might consider using a contraceptive sponge. Or, a Diaphragm or cervical cap but a D or C takes a good bit of discipline to use correctly. You'll let us know how you're doing, right?
Good luck,
