I stopped taking my Aleese 28 (low dose pill) a few weeks ago, because migraines run in my family and I was getting them EVERYDAY basically....Have any of you experienced this? If so, what do you use now for BC?

Hi!

I have a history of migraines in my family. I suffered with migraines while on the pill also. When I stopped using the pill a year ago, the migranes stopped. We used condoms till my husband had a vasectomy. If we hadnt been at the point where we wanted a permanent method, I probably would have gone with and IUD. Hope this helps!

Migraines run in our family too my mom has them really bad even though she is not on bc any more. I get them any how expecially around AF. when i first started bc that put me on Ortho tri cyclin at first it was ok then the migranes got so bad id have them for 10 days at one point i just switched to the patch and it seems to be doing better though iv only been on it for 3 months only time will tell. i still get them but they are usually only a day or some times two. and then a pain reliever usually helps enough so i can function. my next try would be the nuva ring i think if they start comming back reall bad again.

I have stopped the pill due to migraines as well. I have had occular migraines for ten years, but only recently started having the headaches too. My dr. put me on Depro Provera shots. Has anyone had success with the shot? I don't need it for BC, as DH has had a vas. But I was on the Pill to help with endometriosis and ovarian cysts. Any advice?
