weird period

Hi would love any info or advice on what is going on with my cycle. I am taking micronor and don't know if it is related to that or not.
I had all the PMS symptoms..you know grumpy, moody, cramping, that bloated feeling anyway I knew my period was coming. Well first day of my period just had a light brownish discharge. Very odd for me normally its bright red, i thought ok my periods starting. The last 2 days just tiny amounts of brownish discharge with tiny amounts of red and stomach cramping.
I have been on birth control ( micronor) for over a year and take it every day at the same time. I am also breastfeeding and have lost a large amount of weight in the pass year. Especially lately. I know my body fat % is under 10%. Could this cause a odd period or could it be the birth control? What could it be. I really don't think i am preg.
Just don't know what would cause this?
thank you for your help

You might want to talk with your doctor and see what s/he says. It seems to me like it might be normal when on Micronor and BFing too to miss or have a late or very minimal period. It depends on how much weight you lost as to if that could have any effect.
You can breastfeed with body fat under 10%? If you have lost so much weight that your body has gone into secondary amenorrhea that could account for the lack of a period but I don't think you would be able breast feed under those conditions. That is something else to ask your doctor about. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
