Ok...for my first question - LOL I have an appt. for a follow-up pap next week, I also scheduled to get the Mirena IUD at the same time. I could have gotten Mirena to start with, but my usual Dr. was vacation so the on-call Dr. wouldn't give Mirena to me because of my cervical dysplasia history. So..I opted for Depo. - knowing that by the time it wore off I'd need my follow-up pap anyway, so I'd just get the Mirena then.

However, the receptionist miscalculated my appt. I think

You should call the doctor's office and ask them if they think you should wait on getting Mirena until after the Depo has worn off.

Depo Provera is a huge dose of hormones at one time. Mirena is a tiny amount released directly into your uterus and hardly any gets into your bloodstream. Irregular bleeding is the only side effect that is universal with Mirena (dramatically lessened bleeding in time or no periods), anything else is fairly rare.
