Hi I have a paragard IUD and I have had it since March04...My question is,I know you need to check the string to make sure it is there. Ok when I do that one day I can feel the strings and the next day there is no strings to feel??? My doc said that its normal,I have had a ultrasound once and yes it was there,DR said that I would know if it fell out, well I did resurch and it says you should always feel the string ok it just worrys me beaucse I dont want to worry about getting preg..I wonder if its when the cervex changes positions that the string gets in there ??I also know he cut it kinda short:(...Any feedback would help ease my worries THANKS:)

Hi! I've had a ParaGard for about 6 weeks now & I've been checking the strings often & you're right, they definitely differ in position on different days! My gyn said that the uterus does move around throughout the month, so I guess the positioning of the strings is always changing! I bet having the strings really short makes it difficult to find, too. I hope this helps!
