This story may be odd but i have to tell somebody!.... First I've been on the Depo shot for about 3 years then i went off this summer (to loose weight) and ive only been back on it for a month... My SO and I just lost our virginity to eachother about a week ago. My story is that I could be pregnant!... New tests can show you less than a week after getting pregnant that you are... and When i went to get my shot my gyno. told me that if i were to get pregnant that because it would be a shock to my body (being on depro) that you get the signs of pregnancy a few days earlier...like nausea, fatigue...ect. the normal early symptoms, and this after noon i threw up (why? i dunno). I know pregnancy is possible while on the shot because my sis. got pregnant while on it... I'm 18 and im a Freshman in College... what should i do?! should i tell my SO now that I could be pregnant? should i wait until the scare is over and i get a proper test next week... im scared of one thing MY MOTHER! my sis(a single mom) just got pregnant again and my mother is livid... if i am pregnant she'll say im just like her and convince me my life is over...which i know it wont be...
HELP!!!! anyone in a similar situation?
please anything would do

Oh hon, the first thing to do is take a deep breath and calm down. Did your doctor give you a pregnancy test before giving you your last Depo injection? If so what did it show? Depo is extremely effective so it's very unlikely that you became pg since getting the shot. Just because you threw up today is no proof of anything other than that you were sick. It might have been food poisoning or a virus. Nausea and fatigue can be side effects of Depo so perhaps that might be what's going on. Just because you may not have had side effects from earlier Depo injections does not mean that you can't be having side effects now. If I were you I'd talk with my doctor and see what s/he advises. I'll bet you are going to be fine. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
