Cramping on Yasmin-28

I'm in my 2nd month of taking Yasmin-28, and my last period started on 9/8 and ended on 9/12. I used protection for the first month, as told, and now we are condom-free. My school cancelled on Thursday and Friday, so I came home to take a break. Well, I saw my bf that first night, and we had sex. Ever since then I've been sort of crampy and uncomfortable; I feel sort of the same cramps as when I was ovulating. I know that BCPs stop you from ovulating, so it's not making sense. I used to ovulate later in the month. At the same time, my back has been hurting, so I think some of the pain might be associated with that. What is this pain? Is it my back, and my mind is playing tricks on me?

I'm in the same boat. I took Yasmin before to ease bad cramps. I switched to something else but later stopped last year. I started Yasmin back up this month on the 6th as a first day start. But I haven't stopped bleeding or cramping yet. My doctor told me its normal to have breakthrough bleeding. I'm supposed to be taking Yasmin as you would take Seasonale and skip the last week. Yasmin is supposed to be extremely helpful in preventing ovulation cramps and that is why I started it in the first place. My gyno thought I had endometriosis but after a lap he found nothing. If anyone knows why that pain is still there I'd like to know also.

Sometimes when I have back pain, I'll also have uncomfortable feelings in my abdomen--there's lots of nerves involved! Rear-entry positions can cause lower back pain as well, as the angle of the pelvis and the thrusting can put too much curvature in the lower back. It's possible too that your cervix could have taken a good whacking and that can definitely cause cramps.

Does any of that sound familiar?

Oh yes! I'm a Bio student, so I know ALL about the way our bodies respond to things. Anyway, I figured it was in part from the fact that I normally don't get to see him except every 5-6 days, so when I saw him Sunday and then so quickly Wednesday, of course we were excited to see each other! ;-) So I thought maybe my body was reacting to the unexpected sex in a weird way. I was just praying I wasn't ovulating, but I know there are other factors than just that from the BCP that prevent pregnancy. Thank you so much though for reassuring me. I just didn't know because none of my friends are on the Pill!
