With the exception of Depo-Provera, fertility returns shortly after stopping hormones. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 cycles for your cycles to stabilize but fertility usually returns quickly. With Depo however, it can take 12 to 18 months and sometimes longer for some women to begin cycling naturally again. Thanks for posting.
I started taking the pill in the middle of my 18th year....I was on it with a few lapses due to insurance and job changes.I had my baby in 2002 when I was 31......I didn't have any problems due to being on the pill so long....good luck
There is no evidence to show that birth control pill use affects future fertility, which is good news for those of us who've been using them for years! It is very possible to take the pill for _years_ and then have perfectly healthy babies without too much trouble. Some women will inevitably have trouble in any segment of the population, but it hasn't been traced back to pill use. Depo Provera, supposedly, can affect future fertility (we hear about it, but it hasn't been duplicated in medical research).
