IUD Still Wouldn't Go in!!!!

I went in to get the copper IUD about a month ago and it wouldn't go in. The doctor said I should come back during my period so my cervix would be more dilated.
Well, she tried again today to put it in and this time she said she couldn't even find the hole in my cervix!! You could tell she was rushed, which makes me unsure about her. She tried for all of 45 seconds, and gave up. She simply said, "maybe the IUD is not for you, what else would you like to try?" She wrote me a prescription for the patch (which I was on before) and jetted out the door. Last I'll see of her I suspect.
Anyone who has had an IUD put in knows it isn't exactly pain-free. The first time I almost fainted. Now I'm going to have to try a third time with another doctor. Arrgggg.
Sorry to rant, I'm just sooooo diappointed.
Anyway, anyone hear of this problem before???? Should I get a second opinion, or just give up??
Thanks soooo much for any response, Candy

I'm sorry you are having so much trouble. After all this, if you still want an IUD you should definitely find another doctor, one who has had a lot of experience with inserting IUDs. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Hugs,
Jill
