I usually get my period around 19th of each month (although it’s not always right on the dot, some months early some months late, but never pass the 20th), and I still haven’t gotten one this month. I don’t know when I ovulate each month and also prior to January of this year, I have never kept any record of my periods (since I wasn’t sexually active). My boyfriend and I are careful about using condoms and making sure that we are never without protection. The last time that we made love was August 11 (or approximately that weekend). I became concerned and took a home pregnancy test on Tuesday afternoon, then realized that maybe I should have wait till Friday, so I am going to repeat my test.
I am really concerned about my late period. Can any one give me some suggestions?

It's not unusual to miss an occasional period or for cycles to become even more irregular as we age so that might be what's going on. A test will usually be more accurate if you test 2 weeks after the event of concern. It might be a good idea to tell your doctor what's going on and be guided by his or her advice. When you test I hope you get the result you want.
Good luck,
Jill
Thanks for your advice.
I am only 27 and I am wondering if the irregular periods would still be normal?
Take care and hugs,
Jill
I have some slight discharge yesterday, is that a sign that my period is on the way?
Try to relax...I know it's hard! I used only condoms for five years with no incidents. I had the occasional late period that scared me (in my early 20's), which is why I started the pill in the first place. Any hormonal change in your body can change your periods, it doesn't have to be something that you know about or something you feel coming, sometimes they just do that!
If the last time you had sex was August 11, a pregnancy test almost certainly should show an accurate result by now, don't you think? They say to wait for a missed period, but August 11 was almost six weeks ago, right?

Thanks. My period did come. I was in such a shock when it didn't come I actually posted the wrong date! I meant to say September 11, not August.
But, I want to thank all of your support for me :)
